[PRESS RELEASE] FONDERIE DARLING PARTNERS WITH HEFFEL FOR A FUNDRAISING AUCTION FEATURING A SELECTION FROM ITS ART COLLECTION

MONTREAL, SEPTEMBER 4, 2026 — Fonderie Darling announces a fundraising auction of several works from its art collection, organized in collaboration with Heffel Auctions, to be held from September 3 to 24, 2026. The proceeds will be reinvested directly in Fonderie Darling’s mission-driven activities.

Established more than 20 years ago, Fonderie Darling’s Art Collection was created specifically for charitable purposes: the organization supports artists, and in return, they donate a work of art to support its artistic mission. This unique mechanism has built an equally exceptional collection based on the organization’s artistic programming choices, which serves as a guarantee of quality for collectors. As Fonderie Darling approaches its 25th anniversary, this first major auction offers a rare opportunity to explore the most influential artistic practices of recent generations.

By purchasing a lot from Fonderie Darling’s Art Collection, collectors acquire works selected by an institution whose expertise is rooted in nearly 25 years of supporting contemporary art, while directly helping to fund its mission and, thereby, supporting the rise of a generation of artists whose work is destined to leave a lasting mark on the history of contemporary art.

What excites us about this first sale is the opportunity to forge a new connection between our community and collectors. The works leave the collection to find new homes, while the proceeds generated go directly toward supporting Fonderie Darling’s mission. It’s a wonderful way to bring our commitment to artists to life through philanthropy and legacy building. ” – Milly A. Dery, Executive and Artistic Director

The works were selected with the support of the artists’ gallery representatives and in accordance with the permissions granted when the works were donated to the Collection, which allow for their potential use for charitable purposes.

Exhibition at Heffel Montreal

The works will be on view at Heffel Montreal, located at 1840 Sherbrooke Street West, from September 3 to 24. A closing reception will take place on September 23 in the presence of Fonderie Darling’s community; it is open to collectors and the general public.

The works can be viewed without an appointment, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration for the sale is free.
