Renée Condo

Renée Condo's work results from the reflection and application of a Mi'gmaq worldview, with a particular interest in the concept of Pema. energy in motion, also considered Spirit; as well as knowledge of the heart - how we participate in this flow, with empathic love as an underlying principle. She is fascinated by quantum physics, the duality between wave and particle, entanglement, superposition and the implications of global interconnection. Her large-scale, pearl-like compositions on flat panels and three-dimensional objects explore a thread between two worldviews using a visual language that is both symbolic and literal, enriched by the history of the pearl as a vehicle for knowledge, communication, evocation and expression of the spirit.
