Mara Eagle

Mara Eagle is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans video installation, sound art, digital mural-making, and sculpture. Working across traditional and digital media, she explores the unstable boundaries between nature and technology, myth and science. She often uses collage and glitch as strategies for generating accidents and disrupting familiar narratives.

Gardens, origin stories, music, and hybrid bodies are recurrent themes throughout Eagle's work, where these motifs converge within festive dystopias and speculative worlds. Through humour, the uncanny, and the absurd, she embraces art as a free zone for play, subversion, and complex forms of aesthetic experience.

Biography

Mara Eagle (she) holds a Bachelor of Arts from Marlboro College (Vermont) and a Master of Fine Arts from Concordia University (Montréal). In 2025, she presented work as artist in residence at both the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Musée d’art de Joliette. In 2024, she exhibited her first large-scale digital mural at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. Eagle was nominated for the Pierre-Ayot Award (2023) while completing her tenure as Concordia’s 2020 Bronfman Fellow. She is currently represented by Pangée Gallery and has been the recipient of numerous grants from the CCA, CALQ, SSHRC, FRQSC, the Berggruen Institute, and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation.
