Sashikant Thavudoz
Through his academic practice, Sashikant Thavudoz explores the potential of drawing and its diverse variations. He is revisiting the medium which introduced minimal art and conceptual art. Thus, rethinking the forms and codes inspired by those movements. To provide a critical perspective on urbanity and environment, he studies angles, structures, monochromes, neon lights and classifications.
Biography
Sashikant Thavudoz is from Hyderabad and is currently living and working in Vadodara, India. He is the proud recipient of the Nasreen Mohammadie Scholarship in 2008, the Jeram Patel Best Display Award in 2009, and the Inlaks Fine Art Award in 2013. He has also participated in several residencies like the Last Ship Monsoon residency in 2011 in Mumbai, the Art-City residency in 2012 at Studio X Mumbai, the Sandarbh Site-Specific art residency in 2012 in Partapur, Rajasthan and Khoj Peers residency in 2012 in Khoj, New Delhi.
