Bettina Hoffmann
Bettina Hoffmann's practice focuses on the links being forged between reality and fiction, and is embodied in the study of the mechanisms underlying social relations. Through performance, installation, photography and video, and borrowing from the field of architecture and digital communication, she investigates notions of perception and imagination of the viewer.
Biography
Originally from Berlin, Bettina Hoffmann holds a Master in arts from Hochschule der Künste (Berlin) and continued her studies at the California Institute of the Arts (Los Angeles) and Rijksakademie van eeldende Kunsten (Amsterdam). Her work, for which she has received numerous awards, was presented as part of both solo and group exhibitions around the world and is part of private and public collections in North America and Europe.
