Antoine Caron
As an emerging artist, Antoine Caron is finishing his Bachelor of Fine Arts - specialization in Visual Arts 9- at Concordia University (Montreal). Throughout his research, he has directed his attention to collective representations of his surrounding society, creating situations of dialogue between artworks, audiences and the environment. Transfiguring the banality of the objects by deconstructing the typical gaze, Antoine Caron questions the utilitarian essence of the objects, creating in them elements which self-determine away from their initial usage in order to analyze social and political phenomena. He pays attention to the possibilities of emancipation these artworks hold and to the plurality of meanings that can arise in a viewers’ eye over time.
