Tjanara Jali Talbot

I explore my culture, reflecting on the social and political issues that have influenced my life, capturing and sharing my images to provoke my audiences. I photograph the landscape and indigenous people to portray my concepts that encompass racial segregation with ironic gestures, explore identity and culture, in attempt to raise a broader awareness of Indigenous Australians today.

Tjanara Jali Talbot is a Wiradjuri and Bundjulang woman who grew up in her grandmother’s country in Wellington, NSW. In 2012 she obtained her bachelor degree in Fine Arts from the University of New South Wales. She works principally with photography, both analog and digital, and performance.
