Aware of the methodology developed by conceptual art and institutional critique, the Japanese artist Yuki Higashino analyzes, deconstructs and transforms elements from history and popular culture. He deals with topics often marginalized in the culture of visual arts such as news items or pop music to express the socio-economic condition of cultural professionals or the state of the right policy in Europe.
Yuki Higashino lives and works in Vienna. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen (Denmark) and HfBK Städelschule in Frankfurt (Germany). He regularly exhibits his work in Europe: recent personal and group exhibitions held in the Skånes Konstförening (Malmo, Sweden), Kaufhaus Joske (Leipzip, Germany), the Museum für Moderne Kunst (Frankfurt, Germany), the Clark Center (Montreal) and Centro Cultural del Matadero (Huesca, Spain).
