Cultural mediation workshop with Nicholas Dawson

Objects of Affection: Autofiction Writing Workshop

In this workshop, author Nicholas Dawson takes as his starting point the objects—tangible or invisible—from which we construct the stories of our lives and which unlock the emotional potential of autofiction. Between the personal and the collective, between the real and the imagined, between the plausible and the whimsical, the personal narratives we explore are rooted in intimate memory, with the aim of circulating emotions among us.

Participants are invited to bring an object (physical or invisible, such as a trinket, notebook, photo, memento, song, melody, etc.) that relates to a fundamental story from their lives. Instructions will follow via email after registration.

Born in Chile, Nicholas Dawson is a writer, researcher, editor, and curator. He is the author of several books across various genres, including his most recent work, Vida. Journal de la peur, a narrative published this year by Éditions du remue-ménage. He has edited various anthologies in creative writing and academia. As a curator of exhibitions and events in the literary arts, he has also edited several anthologies in creative writing and academia. He has been the director of Éditions Triptyque since 2021.
