Renée Condo

Renée Condo's work results from the reflection and application of a Mi'gmaq worldview, with a particular interest in the concept of Pema, which can be understood as energy in motion, also considered as Spirit, as well as knowledge of the heart. The artist is interested in how we participate in this flow, with empathic love as an underlying principle.

Renée Condo is fascinated by quantum physics, the duality between wave and particle, entanglement, superposition and the implications of global interconnection. Her large-scale, pearl-like compositions on flat panels and three-dimensional objects explore a thread between two worldviews using a visual language that is both symbolic and literal, enriched by the history of the pearl as a vehicle for knowledge, communication, evocation and expression of the spirit.

Renée Condo’s studio is sponsored by the generous support of Québecor Inc. in 2023-2024.
