Sebastian Fröhlich
Sebastian Fröhlich’s ongoing project FADE AWAY, which he will further develop during his residency at Fonderie Darling, combines documentary photography with text to explore new ways of seeing through augmented reality. One of its main themes is the bark beetle, whose spread is weakening and killing trees. Forests, as public spaces, provide countless benefits and play a vital role in people’s well-being and quality of life. In Québec, where forests cover about 40% of the province, the potential is immense—yet so is the vulnerability. What might the landscapes of the future look like in Canada and across North America?
