Quebec-Upper Austria Residency

About

Organized in partnership with the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec (CALQ) and the government of Upper Austria, the residency program Québec-Upper Austria aims to generate links between the Québec and Austrian arts communities through the organization of a two-month stay at the Fonderie Darling for artists from Upper Austria.

During their residencies at the Fonderie Darling, artists benefit from personalized support to help them integrate, develop professional ties and discover the Montréal milieu. Throughout the residency, and according to the artist's wishes, the Fonderie Darling team organizes professional meetings, cultural outings, studio visits, creative workshops and various educational activities. The proximity of the eight local artists at the ateliers montréalais also encourages cultural and artistic immersion.

Renewed in 2023, the Québec-Upper Austria Artist and Studio Exchange Residency is carried out in partnership with CALQ, the government of Upper Austria (Kunstsammlung des Landes Oberösterreich), the International Artist Residency of the City of Linz / Salzamt, and the Québec Government Office in Berlin. This agreement covers both visual and digital disciplines and enables a Québec artist to spend 2 months in Upper Austria each year, and an Austrian artist to spend 2 months in Québec, to take advantage of the many opportunities for professional contacts that can contribute to the development of their careers.
