Based on the title of the autobiography by American writer Maya Angelou, the group exhibition is a reflection on issues related to mental health in Black communities (intergenerational trauma, depression, the stigma of mental illness, political violence, racism and oppressive systems).
NIGRA IUVENTA
Nigra Iuventa is a Montreal-based organization promoting the afro-descendent cultures and history through visual and media arts. By combining creativity and learning, Nigra Iuventa wishes to make the diverse realities and experiences of black communities heard and visible.
