Mexico Residency
Organized in partnership with the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec (CALQ) and the Sistema de Apoyos a la creación y proyectos culturales (SACPC), the residency program in Mexico aims to generate links between Quebec and Mexican artistic communities through three-month residencies for Mexican artists at Fonderie Darling.
During their residency at Fonderie Darling, artists receive personalized support to help them integrate, develop professional connections and discover the Montreal milieu. Throughout the residency, and according to the artist's wishes, the Fonderie Darling team organizes professional meetings, cultural outings, studio visits, creative workshops and various educational activities. The proximity to the eight Montreal-based artists in long-term studio residencies also fosters cultural and artistic immersion.
Renewed in 2022, the Artist and studio-apartment residency exchanges between Québec and Mexico residency is carried out in partnership with the CALQ and Sistema de Apoyos a la creación y proyectos culturales (SACPC). This agreement covers several disciplines, and will enable four Quebec artists to spend three months in residency in Mexico each year, and four Mexican artists to spend three months in residency in Quebec, to take advantage of the many opportunities for professional contacts that can contribute to the development of their careers.
