Closures in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement

Conscious of the need to fight against racism, systemic violence and police brutality, Fonderie Darling wishes to express its solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, the Afro-descendant community in Montreal and elsewhere, as well as all those who are a target of racial discrimination.

In this sense, cultural institutions, in their capacity to instigate discourses and generate space for other social imaginaries, must rise to the challenge and to this momentum. We recognize that the support of local Black artists and their representation are insufficient in our milieu and in our institution. We are dedicated to furthering our efforts to contribute in this important work.

As an immediate response, Fonderie Darling commits to closing its doors each Sunday coinciding with Montreal demonstrations against systemic racism, discrimination and violence in Montreal. Find information about upcoming closures on our social media pages, on our website or by giving us a phone call.
