mihyun maria kim
mihyun maria kim researches (un)translatable affects shaped by languages entangled with unresolved historical grief and transmissions of longing. Her research and creation activities are currently focused on Korean han in relation to Portuguese saudade and German sehnsucht. Exhaustion of the body, repetition of gestures, fragments of hi/stories, and suspended feelings are explored as forms between memory and imagination as interpretations across space and time. Through relational methodology, her multivocal outcomes take in/visible form in poetry, painting, performance/activations, audio/video, site-specific installation, community-based round tables, and public art.
