For her latest photographic series Between Natures, young Montreal photographer Elena Willis turned towards the subconscious. By drawing content from her own dreams and those of people close to her, some of which later turned out to be premonitory, the artist arranges all elements in a dramatic manner which presents the keys to their interpretation. Through these large format photographs, the artist weights out conflicts between the dreaming and waking world, revealing a lone figure floating without support, taken hostage by her own story.

A Concordia University graduate, Elena Willis has exhibited extensively within Canada. This year, she began volunteering at Montreal-based Global Action Network (GAN) and their campaign against animal cruelty, to which she lends her talents as a photographer.
