Émilie Parendeau

Since graduating from the École des Beaux-Arts de Lyon in 2008, Émilie Parendeau has been playing with the re-activation of works by conceptual and minimalist artists from the 70's through a project she calls À LOUER (FOR RENT). Activation refers here to the material completion of a work existing in the form of a statement when it was first conceived by its author. Taking the statement as a score, the activation becomes an interpretation of the work, seen by the artist as both free and respectful.
