In the divinatory tradition of tarot, the Two of Pentacles symbolizes a quest for inner balance, for reconciling everything that makes us up. It reminds us that we can both look to the past and the future, wanting to shout and be silent, being in our bodies while evading them... Here, he is overlooked by the sun, the ubiquitous star that tarot tradition has associated with the energy of life and the sense of absoluteness that runs through it.
Shanie Tomassini
Shanie Tomassini has exhibited her work in Canada, the United States, and Europe, including at the PHI Foundation, the Clark Center in Montreal, Tenerife Espacio de las Artes in Spain, the Arsenal in New York, and the UMLAUF Museum in Austin. She is a recipient of the Fonderie Darling’s Ateliers Montréalais 2023–2026 residency and holds a master’s degree in sculpture from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from UQAM.
