[MATAPÉDIA TRAINSTATION] Artist presentation with Frédéric Lavoie / INSANUS BOLETUS

The public is invited to the Matapédia Train Station on Friday, November 12 to discover the first version of the experimental film Insanus Boletus, directed by Montreal artist Frédéric Lavoie during his residency at the Train Station.

A macroscopic incursion into the captivating world of mushrooms, Insanus Boletus takes the form of a narrative, at once descriptive, anectodic, historical and educational. Neither an introductory course nor a biology lesson ... this story will wander around the following adage:

"To find mushrooms, you have to think like a mushroom!".

La Gare de Matapédia – Pôle artistique et communautaire se veut à la fois un nouvel espace dédié à l’art actuel et un lieu de rencontres pour la communauté. On y propose un programme de résidences croisées, des espaces d’exposition et des activités de médiation culturelle auprès d’écoles, de groupes communautaires et citoyens. Collaboration entre le Centre d’artistes Vaste et Vague et Quartier Éphémère.

The waiting room is invested by two works by Rimouski artist Fernande Forest, a mural and a tondo composed of archival photos of the train station and local railroad, courtesy of ferrovipaths who admirably link the old and the new vocation of the place… See more
