For its fifth Les caresses qui nous unissent performance series, Fonderie Darling invites the public to hold hands. In today's world, technology has caused people to become more distant from each other, creating invisible barriers between us. This evening, audiences reconnect with each other through a performance by the legendary duo COZIC. The event focuses on texture and colour, inviting people to meet each other by activating the sense of touch. To round off the evening, the public can enjoy a DJ set by PLZRS, featuring avant-garde Latin sounds.

COZIC / D’une main à l’autre
COZIC, an artist duo recognized as pioneers in the use of unusual materials, brings a sewing machine to the Place Publique. The machine assembles mittens in real-time and gives them to those present. The mittens are made from a variety of fabric samples in different textures and colours. The artists encourage the public to wear the mittens and engage their sense of touch. They question whether wearing a pink silk mitten makes a person different from wearing a raw canvas one, asking, "Does the habit make the Monk?" Through this performance, COZIC proposes reflections on the essential needs of communicating, discovering, and understanding, as they are being affected by the virtual world and social networks.
For six decades, the COZIC duo has been exploring a variety of unorthodox materials, notably through the gleaning of found objects. These materials are infused with new semantics and meaning. Recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the prestigious Bourses de carrière Jean-Paul-Riopelle 2012, and the Prix Paul-Émile Borduas 2015. COZIC can be found in most major Canadian museums, as well as in corporate and private collections in Canada and Europe.
